Almaty Tourism Bureau will participate in IMEX Frankfurt 2026, one of the world’s leading exhibitions for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry, as the Kazakh city steps up efforts to position itself as a major international business and tourism destination.
At the global exhibition in Frankfurt, the Almaty delegation will showcase the city’s growing appeal for corporate events, conferences, incentive travel and cultural tourism. The bureau plans to highlight Almaty’s modern hospitality infrastructure, international connectivity and unique blend of urban experiences and natural beauty.
As Kazakhstan’s largest city and commercial capital, Almaty has increasingly emerged as a regional tourism and business hub in Central Asia. Tourism officials believe participation in IMEX Frankfurt will help the city attract new partnerships with global travel agencies, event organisers and MICE professionals.
The delegation will present Almaty’s expanding portfolio of luxury hotels, conference venues and destination management services designed to cater to international corporate travellers and large-scale events. Officials will also promote customised incentive programmes that combine business activities with mountain adventures, wellness experiences and cultural immersion.
Located against the backdrop of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, Almaty is known for its scenic landscapes, ski resorts and outdoor tourism offerings. The city’s proximity to mountains, lakes and national parks gives it an advantage in attracting visitors seeking both business and leisure experiences, a trend increasingly popular in the global MICE industry.
Tourism representatives will also emphasise Almaty’s strong air connectivity through international flight routes linking the city with Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The city has invested heavily in tourism infrastructure in recent years as part of broader efforts to diversify Kazakhstan’s economy and strengthen international engagement.

Apart from business tourism, the bureau will showcase Almaty’s cultural and gastronomic attractions. The city’s vibrant café culture, Central Asian cuisine, museums, theatres and traditional markets are expected to be key selling points during discussions with international partners.
Visitors to the Almaty stand at IMEX Frankfurt 2026 will have opportunities to meet tourism officials and hospitality partners, explore collaboration possibilities and gain insights into Kazakhstan’s evolving tourism landscape. The bureau hopes the event will help raise awareness of Almaty among global planners searching for emerging destinations beyond traditional business hubs.
Industry observers say destinations such as Almaty are benefiting from growing interest in new and less conventional locations for conferences and incentive travel. Central Asia, once largely overlooked by global tourism markets, has gained visibility in recent years due to improved connectivity, infrastructure development and rising international curiosity about the region’s culture and landscapes.
The participation of the Almaty Tourism Bureau at IMEX Frankfurt also reflects Kazakhstan’s wider ambition to strengthen its international profile through tourism diplomacy and global business engagement.
The bureau said it remains committed to promoting sustainable tourism growth while building partnerships with stakeholders across the travel and hospitality sectors. By participating in major global exhibitions such as IMEX Frankfurt, Almaty hopes to position itself as one of Central Asia’s most dynamic destinations for tourism, culture and international business events.
