Bruichladdich’s Octomore Series 16 Launches in Singapore with an Immersive Whisky Experience

SINGAPORE, 20 November 2025 — This December, whisky lovers in Singapore can step into the bold world of Octomore as Bruichladdich Distillery unveils its Octomore Series 16 with a three-day immersive exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre, accompanied by exclusive tastings and the chance to meet the brand’s global ambassador.

Renowned for producing the world’s most heavily peated Scotch whiskies, Bruichladdich once again pushes boundaries with its newest Octomore lineup — a trilogy of powerful expressions that blend sky-high peat levels, single-estate terroir, and diverse cask finishes to challenge conventional whisky norms.

“Octomore exists to provoke and challenge,” said Adam Hannett, Master Blender at Bruichladdich. “On paper, it shouldn’t work — it’s too young, too strong, too peaty — but it surprises every time with depth, balance, and complexity. That’s the magic of Octomore.”

Three Bold Expressions

The Series 16 introduces three distinctive whiskies, each bottled after five years of maturation and built around different philosophies of provenance and experimentation.

Octomore 16.1 serves as the baseline for the series. Crafted from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley and malted to 101.4 PPM, this expression is matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 59.3% ABV. It delivers layers of salted caramel, honeyed melon, chocolate, and coconut, balanced by earthy minerality and a lingering campfire smoke.

Octomore 16.2 takes the same spirit and finishes it in a unique combination of Oloroso, Bordeaux, Madeira, and Portuguese Moscatel casks, resulting in a richer and more indulgent profile. Bottled at 58.1% ABV, it unveils flavours of caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, and dried fruit, all wrapped in sweet smoke.

Octomore 16.3, the crown jewel of the series, is a tribute to the distillery’s roots. Made exclusively from barley grown on Church Field at Octomore Farm on Islay, it is a single farm, single field, single vintage whisky peated to a staggering 189.5 PPM. Aged in a trio of Bourbon, Sauternes, and Pedro Ximénez casks, and bottled at 61.6% ABV, it reveals notes of honeyed malt, toasted grain, earth, and a whisper of salinity.

“Whisky should evoke a sense of place,” Hannett explained. “The earthy, cereal-forward character of 16.3 speaks of its island origins. It’s a rare expression of true Islay terroir.”

All three expressions are non-chill filtered, contain no added colour, and are bottled using Octomore spring water on Islay.

Launching with a Multisensory Whisky Exhibition

To mark the Singapore launch, Bruichladdich will host a special Octomore Exhibition from 4 to 6 December at Stamford Arts Centre. The exhibition is open to the public and features a sensory journey through the Octomore legacy, with scent and sound installations that capture the whisky’s bold character.

Visitors can explore the distillery’s story, trace the evolution of Octomore, and join guided tasting sessions of the full Series 16 lineup. Tickets for a curated tasting flight are priced at $32 in advance or $36 on-site. Whisky enthusiasts who purchase all three expressions during the event will also receive a complimentary tasting set.

The Octomore 16.1, 16.2, and 16.3 will be available for purchase at Cellarbration outlets across Singapore and online, priced at $280, $298, and $388 respectively. Bottles purchased at the exhibition will be eligible for special discounts.

Global Ambassador Masterclass

As a prelude to the exhibition, a masterclass will be conducted on 1 December at 7pm by Abigail Clephane, Bruichladdich’s Global Brand Ambassador. Hosted at The Single Cask, the session will offer a guided tasting of Bruichladdich’s newest releases, including the Singapore-exclusive Micro Provenance Single Cask #1558. This single cask showcases how variables such as wood type, storage location, and climate shape a whisky’s character. Tickets are priced at $39.

The Bruichladdich Legacy

Founded in 1881 on Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery has survived war, closure, and revival. Since reopening in 2001, the distillery has committed to terroir-focused production, growing over 50% of its barley on Islay and keeping distillation, maturation, and bottling on the island.

Today, it’s the home of four distinctive spirits: Bruichladdich (unpeated), Port Charlotte (heavily peated), Octomore (super-heavily peated), and The Botanist Gin.

In 2020, Bruichladdich became the first Scotch whisky distillery to achieve B Corp certification, reaffirming its dedication to community, sustainability, and transparency.

With Octomore Series 16, the distillery once again redefines what whisky can be — bold, innovative, and unafraid to challenge tradition.
