In November 2018, Baros, the award winning resort and original pioneer of luxury in the Maldives, re-launches in its 45th year, after a two-year renovation period. The resort will unveil its newly renovated villas, bar and restaurants as well as enhanced guest experiences.
The legacy of this bijou island continues with constant innovation of its product, service and authentic destination experiences offered by a loyal team of experts. As an example, Divers Baros Maldives – one of the first Diving Schools to open in the archipelago – will be introducing advanced restoration initiatives to protect one of the best preserved House Reefs in the archipelago.
The new look and feel of Baros will be conveyed through a new brand identity, website and the introduction of a ‘Baros Elite’ loyalty programme, offering substantial privileges to returning guests.
Always surpassing guest expectations, Baros Maldives has added a new category of Villa accommodation – the Baros Suites, comprising two private, stand-alone Villas, provide guests with a modern, luxurious living space, each appointed with a spectacular 19 ft by 10 ft private swimming pool, a separate hot and cold water Jacuzzi and a secluded gazebo complete with a swing.
The Baros Suites will offer spectacular views of the ocean. In addition, all the existing Baros Water Villas, Baros Pool Villas and Baros Deluxe Villas have been refreshed with new customised furniture, bright colours and quality soft furnishings to enhance guest comfort and improve each Villa’s elegant style.
DELICIOUS NEW DINING
Baros Maldives is renowned for its gastronomy, serving some of the finest cuisine in the Maldives – The Lighthouse is world famous its fine dining and signature ‘lobster bisque’ dish. The popular Sails Bar has been upgraded with custom-made natural furniture and a fresh new colour scheme. Fish scales carved into the backdrop of the bar are a focal design point.
The Cayenne Grill restaurant has expanded the wooden deck to accommodate dining in open-sided pavilions overlooking the Baros lagoon. New menu additions include a ‘Butcher’s Block Menu’ featuring prime cuts of meat and local fish cooked in Maldivian, Tandoori, Thai, Malaysian or Mediterranean styles as well as delicious vegetarian creations. Guests can also opt to dine at the new and improved Teppanyaki Hut observing the Master Teppan Chef expertly preparing meat, duck and seafood in Japanese style.
As a pioneer in reef restoration Baros is famed for its incredible House Reef just 10-15 metres, from the shore. In Autumn 2018, the marine biologist team will introduce ‘Coral Lines’, a new coral conservation initiative, which involves collecting coral fragments and tying them to ropes to hang in the lagoon nursery to be nurtured for up to three years, before being replanted directly back on the reef. This hands-on method encourages the growth of corals in their natural habitat without the use of artificial structures.
NEW BRANDING AND GUEST PRIVILEGES
Baros has introduced a brand new website with new interactive features including 360 tours of Baros Villas. In recognition of its loyal following, Baros introduces “Baros Elite” – refined loyalty programme, which entitles guests to perks and privileges, such as free nights, spa credits, complimentary dinners and other special discounts, further to spending two seven-night holidays at Baros.
