Toshiba Unveils JAPANDi Series Appliances in Singapore

SINGAPORE, November 8, 2025 — Toshiba Home Appliances today unveiled its highly anticipated JAPANDi Series at a grand launch event held at the Atrium of Suntec City Towers 3 & 4. Themed “Quiet Ingenuity, Aesthetic Symbiosis”, the event marked a major milestone in Toshiba’s entry into Singapore’s high-end home appliance market.

It introduced consumers to a new design philosophy that fuses Japanese precision and functionality with Nordic simplicity and warmth, redefining the essence of modern home aesthetics.

A Vision of Tranquility and Harmony

The launch commenced at 11am with a keynote address by Mr Alan Lim, Deputy General Manager of Toshiba Lifestyle Singapore Sales Pte Ltd. Mr Lim highlighted Toshiba’s century-long commitment to technological innovation rooted in human-centric design.

“The JAPANDi Series represents Toshiba’s belief that a home should be both efficient and beautiful,” Mr Lim said. “It combines the quiet ingenuity of Japanese design with the cozy simplicity of Nordic living — bringing together ‘wabi-sabi’ serenity and Scandinavian coziness to create homes filled with tranquility, order, and harmony.”

He added that the JAPANDi Series transforms homes from mere showcases of appliances into warm, cohesive living spaces, where every design element contributes to a unified and peaceful aesthetic.

Applause from Industry Leaders

Mr Solomon Wan, Executive Secretary-General of the Global Cross-Border Business Association, praised the JAPANDi Series as a “game changer” that bridges Eastern and Western design philosophies.

“Toshiba has filled a key gap in the premium integrated home appliance market,” he said, “setting new standards for global home design and lifestyle trends.”

The official unveiling of the JAPANDi Series was accompanied by a dynamic stage presentation, symbolising Toshiba’s commitment to redefining the future of high-end home aesthetics.

Seamless Integration Meets Intelligent Functionality

During the product showcase, Yinnuo, a Toshiba product specialist, outlined three defining features of the JAPANDi Series. Built around the “SeamlessFit” design concept, the collection features Fuji White panels with 2.5D curved cutting technology, allowing appliances to blend flush with cabinetry and walls.

The result is an elegant, minimalist appearance that emphasises continuity and calm.

The series also integrates Toshiba’s latest technological innovations. For instance, the GR-RM919WI-PGX(B3) Star Chef Refrigerator boasts dual independent cooling systems, eight precise temperature zones, and 19 dedicated storage compartments — embodying Toshiba’s “Food Ecological Fresh-keeping” concept.

Other standout models include the T37 Washer-Dryer Combo and the MX2-STR25SF(WH) Smart Steam Microwave Oven, both praised for their space-saving design and intelligent controls.

The use of skin-friendly glass surfaces, warm wood tones, and an intelligent Welcome Light system further reflects Toshiba’s “design serving people” philosophy — one that balances innovation with emotional comfort.

Interactive Experiences Bring JAPANDi Philosophy to Life

To immerse attendees in the JAPANDi lifestyle, Toshiba curated a range of hands-on experiences. In a live cooking demonstration, Lucas, an engineer from the Toshiba Delicious & Healthy Research Institute, prepared dishes using the JAPANDi kitchen range, showcasing its precision, speed, and consistency.

Visitors were also invited to explore a central exhibition zone, interactive game area, and photo booth, offering opportunities to experience Toshiba’s craftsmanship up close. Each station emphasised how form and function coexist within the JAPANDi design ethos — that beauty can be both subtle and deeply functional.

Strengthening Toshiba’s Market Presence in Singapore

According to Toshiba representatives, the JAPANDi Series is more than a product line — it represents a lifestyle movement. “JAPANDi is not just a design style, it’s an attitude toward life,” a company spokesperson noted. “It embodies calmness, balance, and intentional living — values that resonate deeply with Singapore’s discerning consumers.”

The launch attracted a large turnout, including media, design professionals, and Singaporean families. Attendees praised the range’s elegant aesthetics and practical innovation. The event also garnered significant attention from the local home design and technology sectors, cementing Toshiba’s growing reputation as a trendsetter in integrated home solutions.

A Future Built on Aesthetic Innovation

Looking ahead, Toshiba plans to expand its JAPANDi offerings across Southeast Asia, positioning Singapore as a strategic hub. “This launch marks only the beginning,” said Mr Lim. “We will continue to build on our legacy of Japanese innovation and global design thinking to bring more intelligent, art-inspired home solutions to consumers.”

The two-day roadshow, which concludes on November 9, serves as the foundation for Toshiba’s long-term commitment to elevating the high-end home experience in Singapore. By seamlessly blending technology, design, and culture, the JAPANDi Series exemplifies Toshiba’s century-old pursuit of harmony between humanity and innovation.
