Singapore, August 6, 2025 – The Singapore Polo Club (SPC) will unveil a bold new chapter in its 139-year history with the launch of Cosmopolitan Polo – an immersive lifestyle and sporting event set for Saturday, 30 August 2025.
Running from 3pm to 7pm, followed by an After Party until 10pm, the inaugural edition promises to reimagine the “Sport of Kings” for a broader audience.
Blending high-energy equestrian competition with gourmet indulgence, music, fashion and interactive experiences, Cosmopolitan Polo will offer guests the rare chance to feel the thunder of hooves and the clash of mallets up close.
“Polo is often seen as an elitist sport in Singapore,” said SPC General Manager Sylvan Braberry (below), the driving force behind the new concept. “We want to make it accessible to the general community, so people can understand and enjoy the sport. In October, we’re even planning an outreach event for about 5,000 people. Polo is inclusive – anyone can learn to play.”
Arena-Style Action and International Flair
For the first time at SPC, matches will be played in an arena-style format, bringing the action closer to spectators than ever before.
The highlight will be a high-stakes clash between the Singapore National Polo Team and a Rest of the World side featuring players from India, Argentina and Pakistan. In total, three matches are scheduled.
The curtain-raiser will see all players on horseback entering the field behind a one-of-a-kind vintage Bentley, riding past spectators for high-fives.
The first match will feature riders from SPC’s Atoms Polo Academy – the largest in the world – followed by a full-handicapped ladies-versus-men match, and culminating in the marquee international showdown.
Fringe activities will run throughout the day, including riding and feeding experiences, stable tours and wooden horse challenges where visitors can try hitting a polo ball.
The traditional Stomping the Divots competition – made famous by even the late Queen Elizabeth II – will invite guests to help repair the field between matches. Prizes will also be awarded for Best Dressed.
Tickets and Hospitality
Cosmopolitan Polo is already proving a sell-out success. All VIP Hospitality tables – priced at S$588 for four guests – are gone. Each package includes premium viewing, a bottle of Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Signature Edition whisky, bottles of red and white wine, gourmet canapés and exclusive Atoms Polo Academy caps.
General admission tickets, priced at S$52 per person, are selling quickly. Each includes limited bench seating or free-standing field access, two bottles of mineral water and a limited-edition Atoms Polo Academy cap. Tickets are available via SISTIC (prices exclude booking fees).
From Sport to Social Scene
As the sun sets, SPC will transform into a chic outdoor lounge for the After Party, from 7pm to 10pm. All ticket holders will enjoy music, dancing under the stars and a 9pm Lucky Draw featuring prizes for Best Dressed and competition winners.
“Cosmopolitan Polo isn’t just about the matches – it’s about community,” said Mr Braberry. “We want people to connect, mingle and leave with memories of both the sport and the experience. It’s where sport meets sophistication in the heart of Singapore.”
Building a Regional Polo Circuit
Mr Braberry, who has helmed SPC for a decade, has ambitious plans for Cosmopolitan Polo’s future. “The long-term objective is to form a regional circuit. We want to expand to other Southeast Asian countries, so they can host and participate in our event,” he said.
A former CEO of Island Country Club, Warren Golf & Country Club and Seletar Country Club, Mr Braberry brought a fresh vision to SPC. Under his leadership, the riding school was transformed into a riding academy, growing from 180 riders in 2018 to 1,100 today. The Atoms Polo Academy, launched in October 2020 with just 30 players, now has 500 members – several of whom have made the national team.

For Mr Braberry, Cosmopolitan Polo is the next step in SPC’s evolution. “We’ve modernised, we’ve grown, and now we’re opening our gates wider than ever before,” he said. “Whether you’re a seasoned polo fan or experiencing it for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to discover the sport – and have a great day out doing it.”
With most tickets gone and anticipation building, Cosmopolitan Polo 2025 is set to deliver not only adrenaline-charged sport, but also a celebration of style, gastronomy and camaraderie. On 30 August, the Singapore Polo Club invites the public to see – and feel – why polo is more than a game.
