Ring in the New Year with Lights, Art, Music and Fireworks

SINGAPORE, 20 December 2025 — Singapore is set to end 2025 on a spectacular note as the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 returns with a month-long celebration of community, creativity, and connection. Presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), this year’s event also marks the grand finale of the SG60 celebrations — commemorating Singapore’s 60th year of independence — with dazzling projections, immersive experiences, live performances, and a monumental fireworks display.

A Month of Festivities at the Bay

Throughout December, Marina Bay will be transformed into a festive hub for locals and tourists alike, offering a dynamic mix of art, music, food, and family-friendly experiences. Highlights include the return of Brightening Lives, a beloved light projection showcase on the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and the debut of a parallel art installation on UOB Plaza 1.

Meanwhile, Togetherland by World Christmas Market returns bigger and brighter, while Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay hosts local talent in a series of free performances. The celebrations will culminate in a stunning New Year’s Eve fireworks extravaganza designed as a 360° immersive spectacle.

Brightening Lives: Art Meets Light

This year’s edition of Brightening Lives adopts the theme “Thriving Beyond Limits”, celebrating resilience, adaptation, and inclusion. In partnership with ART:DIS and The Majurity Trust, the light show will spotlight original works by artists with disabilities — each illuminating Singapore’s past, present and future through deeply personal artistic visions.

From 26 to 31 December, the iconic Fullerton Hotel becomes a canvas for eight projected artworks, including three newly commissioned pieces:

“My Island Home” by Kenji Teo pays homage to Singapore’s humble beginnings along the Singapore River, symbolising grit, teamwork, and growth.

“Threads That Knit” by Joy Koh weaves Singapore’s social fabric through colourful scenes of everyday life — HDB void decks, playgrounds, communal meals.

“Future Takes Flight” by Koh Jun Kai envisions a harmonious tomorrow where people, technology and nature coexist.

Complementing these are five adapted pieces by ART:DIS artists — including designs from SG60 National Day Parade fun packs — exploring themes like unity, openness and growth, all expressed through florals, familiar motifs, and communal spirit.

The projection runs nightly from 8pm to 10:30pm, drawing viewers into a heart-warming narrative of inclusivity and shared identity.

UOB Plaza Joins the Skyline Celebration

In tandem with Fullerton, UOB Plaza 1 will feature its own light showcase — Sharing Joy, Celebrating with our Communities — from 18 to 31 December 2025. The vibrant display includes two thematic segments:

From 18–25 December, a Festive Show captures the spirit of giving through select artworks from the UOB Painting of the Year ASEAN Collection.

From 26–31 December, a Countdown Show envisions a thriving future, celebrating joy and unity through Southeast Asian artistry.

The nightly projections add yet another visual layer to the evolving Marina Bay skyline, turning the precinct into a giant open-air art gallery.

Togetherland: Singapore’s Christmas Wonderland by the Bay

Returning with a fresh concept — “A Christmas Constellation” — Togetherland by World Christmas Market sets up camp at the expansive Bayfront Event Space from 11 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Now twice the size of its previous edition, Togetherland spans 20,000 square metres and promises a multi-sensory journey featuring:
* Festive food stalls
* Handcrafted gifts
* Interactive installations
* Family-friendly attractions
* A sustainability zone promoting eco-conscious fun

Expect a vibrant blend of cultures and creativity, ideal for year-end family outings or a romantic holiday stroll under the stars.

Homegrown Talent Takes the Stage at Esplanade

Throughout December, Come Together @ Esplanade will bring local music to the forefront. The free performance series at Esplanade Concourse and the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre features Singaporean artists across genres, including:
* Hey Pelican!
* Amni Musfirah
* Heema Izzati

Audiences can expect soulful ballads, jazzy tunes, and indie pop, all set against the scenic Marina Bay backdrop.

Countdown Fireworks: ELYSIUM — A Sky Full of Dreams

The grand finale arrives on 31 December, as the sky over Marina Bay ignites with a dazzling 30-minute fireworks display titled ELYSIUM.

Starting at 11pm, this curated hour-long symphonic show is structured into four segments, forming a cinematic narrative of hope, gratitude, and ambition. Designed as a 360° experience around the Bay, the fireworks — synchronised to an original musical score — will be launched from multiple vantage points, creating a panoramic celebration of colour and sound.

Whether by the waterfront or at elevated viewpoints, spectators can expect a show like no other — both visually grand and emotionally uplifting.

Planning for Safety and Smooth Celebrations

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, authorities will regulate crowd flow in and out of high-traffic zones. Key updates include:
* Certain MRT exits may close temporarily
* Pedestrian-only zones will be implemented around Marina Bay
* Cycling restrictions in high-density areas

More than just a New Year’s party, the month-long celebration is a heartfelt ode to Singapore’s journey — honouring inclusivity, culture and community — as the nation closes the chapter on SG60 and steps into a promising new year.

Let the lights, music, and unity carry us forward. Welcome 2026 with joy, gratitude, and wonder.
