Bali’s Suara Festival to take place in Nuanu City


Bali’s multisensory Suara Festival (26-28 July) has announced its phase one lineup while revealing the hidden paradise in which its highly curated and intimate music and arts extravaganza will take place, Nuanu City.

Catering to discerning tastemakers by bringing to the fore a diverse range of international and creative talent coupled with the best that Bali has to offer, Suara, which means ‘voice’ in Indonesian, enters its third year.

As its most international and cutting-edge edition to date, attendees will be treated to performances from the likes of HVOB, LP Giobbi, Deer Jade, Geju, Lastlings, MANSIONAIR, Rodriguez Jr. and Sainte Vie.

Coinciding with Nuanu City’s grand opening weekend, festival goers will be the first to explore the innovative facilities and stunning natural landscapes of the visionary creative city on the Island of the Gods.

Nestled in the brand new, sprawling embrace of Nuanu City, Suara attendees will be able to explore the other worldly creative hub set on 44 hectares. A celestial spot, the site features breathtaking fauna and flora including, jungle, forest, rivers, and spectacular sunset views over the Indian Ocean. Complementing the natural environment, sustainable architecture creates a calming ambience of a living and breathing green city complete with modern amenities. From larger-than-life art installations by multidisciplinary artist Daniel Popper, to a lookout tower across the grounds, a beach club complete with an infinity edge pool, a five-star hotel, multiple outdoor stages, and a central projection hub boasting state-of-the-art multimedia light show and sound capabilities, the venue is the kind of place that dreams are made of but only 15 minutes from Canggu.

From world-class acts, beach clubs, swimming pools, bionic bamboo stages, beach access, wellness activities, artisanal stalls, and talks from visionary thought leaders, there is so much on offer with lots still to be announced. But most importantly, it’s the participants who join us over the three days that will make it special.”

Having sold out tours globally alongside a string of festival appearances (Burning Man, Fuji Rock Japan, Sonar, Fusion Festival, Clockenflap), HVOB (live) will headline bringing their hypnotic vocals and goosebump-inducing beats to the main stage. Also announced is W Hotels Global Music Director, DJ and producer LP Giobbi.

Other talent set to stun at Suara Festival include groovy house producer and DJ Deer Jade, instrumental samplists and bouncy beatmakers Geju, Australian electronic pop sibling Lastlings, indie electronic trio and GRAMMY-nominees from Australia Mansionair, award-winning melodic house and techno musician Rodriguez Jr (live)., and Akumandra label founder Sainte Vie (live). Showcasing local talents, the Indonesian acts rounding out today’s announcement include Jakarta-based trio Batavia Collective known for their diverse array of musical styles, five-piece sound and music experimenters Orasare, Tantra Collective featuring Archie, Danny, Kai & Ones, and eclectic groovers We Are Neurotic.

Ticket holders can expect an array of musical genres across three stages, workshops, market stalls, art installations, outdoor eco-wonders, and culinary sensations showcasing Bali’s finest. Alongside an international and local line-up of musical talent, takeovers from indie electronic labels, party collectives and brands, there will be inspiring talks as well as world-class wellness experiences and family-friendly activities. Coupled with July’s perfect weather and an attractive price point, the destination festival promises an experience like no other for everyone of all ages.

Outside the festival, revellers will have time to soak in the local lifestyle that Bali is famous for. A daily itinerary may include a morning surf in nearby Canggu, a decadent brunch at one of the township’s many culinary hotspots, followed by some boutique browsing before making one’s way to the festival for an afternoon and evening filled with memorable dancefloor moments from sunset to sunrise.
