SINGAPORE, 28 November 2025 – A new chapter has begun for Singapore’s iconic sporting and lifestyle precinct as the Singapore Sports Hub officially adopts a new identity: The Kallang. The move, announced by Kallang Alive Sport Management—which now rebrands as The Kallang Group—signals an ambitious and inclusive vision to transform the precinct into Singapore’s “excitement epicentre” for sport, entertainment, lifestyle, and community experiences.
At a launch event held at the Bank of Singapore Lounge inside the National Stadium, Chairman Keith Magnus and CEO Quek Swee Kuan unveiled the new name in front of more than 300 stakeholders and partners. With the new branding, The Kallang will encompass all infrastructure and assets previously known as the Singapore Sports Hub.
“The Kallang is not just a world-class venue,” said Mr Magnus. “It is a feeling, a connection, a shared memory. This brand launch reflects our commitment to build a precinct that belongs to all Singaporeans – and to ensure The Kallang becomes one of the most exciting and loved destinations in the region for generations to come.”
A Rising Force Since 2022
Since its transition to government management in 2022, the precinct has seen steady momentum, delivering more event days and record-breaking attendance. This year alone, The Kallang hosted landmark events such as the World Aquatics Championships and World Para Swimming Championships, as well as concerts by international superstars including Lady Gaga, who chose Singapore as her sole Asia stop.
But The Kallang is more than a venue for international showcases—it’s also a hub for the people. National School Games, GetActive! Singapore, Majulah Fiesta, and ONE Countdown have turned it into a gathering space that unites Singaporeans of all ages.
Why “The Kallang”?
The choice of name is rooted in emotion and history. “Kallang” is synonymous with national pride, echoing through memories of the iconic “Kallang Roar” and “Kallang Wave” as fans rallied for Team Singapore over decades. It’s a name that evokes powerful associations with unity, celebration, and resilience.
“This precinct has transformed into a dynamic hub for world-class sport, entertainment and community life, hosting over 4,000 event days and welcoming more than nine million visitors,” said Mr Magnus. “What inspires us is the spirit this place now carries.”
The new name reflects both heritage and vision. It honours the precinct’s sporting legacy while expanding its identity to embrace lifestyle, creativity, and inclusivity across a broader spectrum of experiences.
“Feel Alive” – A New Tagline for a New Identity
Accompanying the rebranding is a new tagline—Feel Alive—which encapsulates The Kallang’s commitment to vibrancy, connection, and excellence. The brand pillars guiding this next phase include:
Connection – Designing inclusive spaces and fostering a sense of community.
Vibrancy – Infusing energy into all activities, from sport to performance to leisure.
Excellence – Delivering world-class programming with precision.
Leadership – Continuing to break ground with first-of-its-kind events and experiences.
Yip Pin Xiu, Singapore’s most decorated Paralympian, welcomed the rebrand:
“For Team Singapore athletes, The Kallang has always been a training ground and stage for world-class excellence. This refreshed identity will inspire the nation and provide a home for iconic sporting moments.”
Charles Hsiung, President of APG and Women’s Tennis Association representative, added:
“The Kallang’s strength lies in its efficiency, multifunctional capability, and clear delivery of values. It is a dynamic platform for Singapore to elevate live events, inspire athletes, and connect deeply with fans.”
Countdown 2026 and the Kallang Pass
The Kallang’s first marquee event under its new identity will be Countdown 2026, headlined by K-pop legends Super Junior, accompanied by family-friendly festivities and the longest countdown fireworks in Singapore: 35 minutes across four chapters lighting up the Kallang Basin skyline.
To engage the public, The Kallang Pass—a unique golden ticket granting access to multiple events in 2026—will be awarded to one lucky winner attending Countdown 2026. All Singapore residents aged 18 and above are eligible.
Revitalising Infrastructure and Experiences
To match its bold vision, The Kallang is undergoing a series of infrastructure enhancements, beginning in Q2 2026 and set for completion in 2028:
New alfresco dining along the waterfront, turning the precinct into a culinary destination.
An enhanced Splash-N-Surf playscape for children of all ages.
A new sheltered padel ecosystem with competition-ready courts.
Upgraded Climb and Bouldering Walls in the mall to attract recreational and serious climbers alike.
All upgrades will take place in phases, and the mall will remain operational throughout.
Social Impact and Community Inclusion
At its heart, The Kallang is about people. The Group continues to work closely with over 100 charities, supporting youths, seniors, and underserved groups through inclusive programmes and volunteer initiatives.
“We are now exploring a philanthropic fund to give donors and well-wishers a direct role in uplifting the communities we serve,” Mr Magnus said. “We are grounded in purpose, and committed to making The Kallang a place where everyone can thrive.”
The Kallang may be a new name, but the spirit that animates it is deeply familiar: one of unity, celebration, and progress. As Singapore looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, The Kallang stands ready—not just as a venue, but as a destination where the nation comes alive.
