Created on the grounds of the esteemed Hendrick’s Gin Palace, located on the rugged Ayrshire coast of southwest Scotland, this gin was inspired by the enchanting melody of waves which entranced Master Distiller Ms. Lesley Gracie as she strolled along the local beaches.
In an unconventional and intriguing ode to the sea, emanated from the curious mind of Ms. Lesley Gracie, Hendrick’s Neptunia is unmistakably Hendrick’s, awash in roses and cucumber, with added depth and flavour from its mysterious blend of Scottish coastal botanicals to encapsulate the magical sensation of being by the waters, bottled in a gin.
It serves as the perfect anchor for refreshing encounters like weekend drinks with curious mates or thirst-quenching coolers on hot days. Consider pairing a delectably simple Neptunia Fizz with freshly shucked oysters while you savour the depths of the enchanting seas.
Ms. Lesley Gracie said, “Most of my creations are based on memories – I play around with botanicals and combine them to recreate certain sensations. Protecting the Majestic Wonders of the Ocean
With a product inspired by the magic of the sea, it’s little wonder Hendrick’s is keen to shine a light on one of the least known, but hardest working groups of organisms that live at the bottom of the sea: the seagrasses. Saving seagrass means saving our seas! Seagrass meadows are one of the most productive ecosystems in the world, and yet many don’t even know they exist. Not only do seagrass meadows sequester and store carbon, helping us to mitigate the effects of climate change, but they also provide shelter and food to an incredibly diverse community of animals, from tiny invertebrates to large fish, crabs, turtles, marine mammals, and birds.
Making the invisible visible, Hendrick’s Neptunia will raise urgent awareness and funds to support seagrass meadows and the vital role they play in providing food and habitat for thousands of marine species and those that rely on them through their charity partner, Project Seagrass. Additionally, Hendrick’s is funding new projects such as a targeted seagrass study on the west coast of Scotland, where the Hendrick’s Gin Palace is located, that will unlock the opportunity for restorative work in this region.
